It looks like we are having another great fishing season up here in Maine. The stripers and mackerel are running like crazy. Here’s some pics of little Coco hauling in some mackerel for striper bait.

Ever since the freeze two winters ago it has been hard to find snook willing to eat. Especially fishing from shore. Picnic island is surrounded! We caught one on a live thread fin and the other on a Big Hammer 1/4 oz. jig head and a 4 inch swim bait. The big incoming tides are key.

American red snapper season is hardly ever open. So from June 1st until July 23rd, you better get yours. You have to get out deep, but it’s worth it. These things are delicious!

If you have a Florida fishing licence you’re allowed 5 crab traps. The FWC has a few regulations so be sure to check those out. Then, on your next fishing trip, bring some traps and plop um in. Even if you can’t leave them overnight

You have to love this extra day light! The other night Aaron loaded up his canoe and, the next morning, brought it to work. Right after work we headed to a spot we had only heard about. Turns out its a pretty good spot. It definitely past the test.
This won’t be the last time we stroll into work with fishing poles and a canoe.
